Generate a Template with AI

Describe the email you want, and Templated's AI builds a fully designed template in seconds — complete with layout, copy, and your brand styling.

How to Start a Generation

1. From your dashboard, click the AI button on the Create New card.
2. The Generate with AI modal opens with a prompt form.

Fill In Your Prompt

1. Choose an email type (optional). Select one of the preset types — Newsletter, Announcement, Welcome, Promotion, Event, Update, Re-engagement, or Transactional — to give the AI context about your email's purpose.
2. Describe your email. In the Describe your email field, write what you want. Be specific about structure, tone, and content. For example: "A welcome email for new users with a hero image, introduction paragraph, and a CTA button to get started."
3. Add reference content (optional). Click Add reference content to expand a second field where you can paste existing copy, product descriptions, or other material for the AI to draw from.
4. Click Generate. The button shows how many generations you have remaining today.

Preview Your Template

After a few seconds, the modal switches to a two-column preview:

• Left side: A live preview of your generated email template.
• Right side: The generated subject line and preview text, plus options to refine or regenerate.

Use or Refine

• To load the template into the editor, click Use This Template. This creates a new template and opens it in the drag-and-drop editor where you can make further changes.
• To adjust the template, type your feedback in the Refine this template field and click Refine. The AI updates the template based on your instructions.
• To start over with your original prompt, click Regenerate.

Each refinement and regeneration uses one generation from your daily allowance.

Generation Limits

Your plan determines how many AI generations you get per day:

• Free: 5 generations per day
• Pro: 30 generations per day
• Business: Unlimited

The remaining count displays on the Generate button and below the refinement options.

Tips

• Pair AI generation with your Brand Kit for on-brand results. The AI automatically uses your brand colors, fonts, and tone when a Brand Kit is configured.
• Use the reference content field to paste product descriptions or existing copy — the AI incorporates this material into the template.
• You can refine multiple times in a row. Each refinement builds on the previous version.
