Connect Your Email Service Provider

Templated integrates with popular email service providers (ESPs) so you can push templates directly from the editor to your ESP account. Currently supported: Mailchimp and Klaviyo.

Connect an ESP

  1. Go to Integrations in the left navigation.
  2. Find the ESP you want to connect (Mailchimp or Klaviyo).
  3. Click Connect. You'll be redirected to the ESP's authorization page.
  4. Log in to your ESP account and authorize Templated.
  5. You'll be redirected back to Templated with a success message.

Once connected, you'll see a Connected badge on the ESP card along with your account details.

Disconnect an ESP

  1. Go to Integrations.
  2. Find the connected ESP.
  3. Click Disconnect.

Disconnecting removes the stored authorization. You can reconnect at any time by clicking Connect again.

Push a Template to Your ESP

  1. Open the template you want to send in the editor.
  2. Click Export in the top toolbar.
  3. Select the Send to ESP tab.
  4. Find your connected ESP and click Push.
  5. The template is created in your ESP account. If a link is available, click it to view the template in your ESP.

Use Merge Fields

Merge fields let you insert personalized content — like a subscriber's first name or email — directly into your template.

  1. Click on a text block in the editor to open the rich text toolbar.
  2. Click the merge field icon (curly braces) in the toolbar.
  3. Select the field you want to insert (e.g., First Name, Email).
  4. The merge field appears as a colored pill in the editor.

When you push the template to your ESP, merge fields are automatically converted to the correct syntax — for example, *|first_name|* for Mailchimp or {{ first_name }} for Klaviyo.

Supported Providers

  • Mailchimp — Push templates, pull merge fields from your audience lists.
  • Klaviyo — Push templates with profile-based personalization tokens.
  • Constant Contact — Coming soon.
  • Campaign Monitor — Coming soon.

Tips

  • You can connect multiple ESPs at the same time.
  • If your ESP connection expires, disconnect and reconnect to refresh it.
  • Merge fields are provider-specific. If you switch ESPs, you may need to update your merge fields.
