Manage Team Members and Roles

Roles Overview

Every member of your Templated account has one of four roles. Each role determines what that person can see and do across the platform.

Owner

Full control over the account. The Owner can manage billing, delete the account, transfer ownership, and do everything an Admin can do. Each account has exactly one Owner.

Admin

Near-complete access. Admins can manage team members, change roles, configure account settings, and work with all templates. They cannot access billing or transfer ownership.

Editor

Editors can create, edit, and delete their own templates, export templates, and view the team member list. They cannot manage other members or change account settings.

Reviewer

View-only access. Reviewers can browse templates and view the team member list, but they cannot create, edit, or delete anything.

Inviting Team Members

To invite someone to your account:

  1. Go to SettingsTeam.
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter the person’s email address and choose a role.
  4. Click Send Invite.

Invitations expire after 7 days. If an invite expires, you can send a new one from the same page. The number of members you can invite depends on your plan.

What Happens When Someone Is Invited

The invited person receives an email with a link to join your account.

  • If they already have a Templated account: They click the link to accept the invitation and are added to your team immediately.
  • If they are new to Templated: They click the link, create a password inline, and join your account in one step. No separate signup is required.

Changing Roles

Owners and Admins can change any team member’s role at any time.

  1. Go to SettingsTeam.
  2. Find the member whose role you want to change.
  3. Click the role dropdown next to their name.
  4. Select the new role.

The change takes effect immediately. The member does not need to log out or refresh.

Removing Members

Owners and Admins can remove any member from the account.

  1. Go to SettingsTeam.
  2. Click the remove button next to the member’s name.
  3. Confirm the removal.

Once removed, the person will see a No Account Access screen the next time they log in. They can create their own separate Templated account if they need one.
