Create Your First Email Template

This article walks you through building your first email template from a blank canvas. By the end, you will have a complete email ready to export.

Start a Blank Template

  1. From your dashboard, click Create Blank.
  2. The email editor opens with an empty canvas. Give your template a name by clicking the title field in the toolbar and typing a descriptive name.

Add Content Blocks

The Block Palette on the left side of the editor lists all available block types. To add a block to your template:

  1. Drag a block from the palette onto the canvas.
  2. Drop it where you want it to appear. A visual indicator shows where the block will land.
  3. The block appears on the canvas and is automatically selected.

For a typical email, you might start with:

  1. A Text block for your headline
  2. Another Text block for your body copy
  3. A Button block for your call to action
  4. A Divider block to separate sections
  5. A Social Icons block in the footer

Edit Block Content

Click any block on the canvas to select it. The Settings Panel on the right updates to show that block's options — colors, spacing, alignment, and more.

For Text blocks, double-click the block to start typing directly on the canvas. A floating toolbar appears with formatting options.

For Button blocks, double-click the button text to edit it inline. Use the settings panel to set the link URL and style the button.

Rearrange Blocks

To reorder blocks, drag a block on the canvas and drop it in a new position. You can also drag blocks into and out of layout containers like rows and columns.

Preview and Adjust

Use the responsive toggle in the toolbar to switch between desktop and mobile previews. This helps you confirm your template looks good on all devices. Many blocks have mobile-specific settings you can adjust in the settings panel.

Save Your Template

Click the Save button in the toolbar to save your progress. You can return to the dashboard and pick up where you left off at any time.

Tips

  • Use Undo (Cmd+Z on Mac, Ctrl+Z on Windows) and Redo (Cmd+Shift+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z) to step through changes.
  • Keep your email focused — one primary call to action per template tends to perform best.
  • Test how your template looks on mobile before exporting.
